United General Construction was started in 2005 by Igor, who's been working residential construction in the region for 27 years. The business handles siding, decks, remodels, and ADU builds across Greater Kootenai County and parts of Spokane County, Washington—Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Rathdrum, Spirit Lake, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, and Newman Lake. Igor runs every project personally, from the initial site visit and bid through construction and final walkthrough.
The work is straightforward: fiber cement and engineered wood siding that holds up in North Idaho's freeze-thaw cycles, custom decks built to snow load and frost line requirements, kitchen and bathroom remodels that address the structural issues hidden behind old finishes, and ADUs that navigate local zoning and pass inspection the first time. United General Construction pulls permits, coordinates subs (plumber, electrician, concrete, tile), and schedules inspections with Kootenai County and city building departments.
Most projects are residential—single-family homes, older homes that need siding replacement or structural updates, and properties adding ADUs or outdoor living spaces. The business is licensed in Idaho and Washington, bonded and insured, and certified to install James Hardie, LP SmartSide, and CertainTeed siding systems. Igor answers the phone himself, meets you at the property for the consultation, and stays involved through every stage of the work.
